A dental implant replaces a missing tooth from the root up: a small titanium post in the jaw, a connector called an abutment, and a crown on top that looks and chews like a natural tooth. At Maple Dental Centre, Dr. Sophie and her team plan implant treatment with an iTero 5D scan and DEXIS digital X-rays, so you can see the space and the plan before anything starts. Dr. Sophie places the implant herself and fits the final crown, so the whole treatment happens in one office with the same dentist, from the first scan to the finished tooth.

What dental implants cost in Ontario

Maple Dental Center (13)

A single implant, including the post, abutment and crown, usually costs $3,000 to $6,500 per tooth in Ontario. Bone grafting, when it’s needed, is quoted separately. Be careful with ads for $1,000 to $3,000 implants, since those prices usually cover only the surgical post. We go over the full cost with you after your exam. Many insurance plans cover part of the crown or the implant. You pay at each visit and your insurer reimburses you. See costs, insurance and CDCP for payment options.

Frequently asked questions

Usually $3,000 to $6,500 per tooth in Ontario, including the post, abutment and crown. Your exact cost depends on the tooth and whether you need a bone graft, and we go over it with you after your exam.

The implant post can last for decades with good brushing, flossing and regular cleanings. The crown on top may need replacing after many years of wear.

The area is numbed during placement, and most people describe the next few days as sore rather than painful. Over-the-counter pain relief is usually enough.

Many plans cover part of the crown or the implant. We can send a pre-treatment estimate to your insurer first, so you know your share before you start.
